CyberSecure on a hosted console
UniFi CyberSecure is Ubiquiti's paid threat-intelligence add-on for UniFi gateways. It works on your hosted UniFi OS Server console. You buy it from Ubiquiti, not from us, and you need one subscription per site.
Does it work with hosting?
Yes, on UniFi OS Server. Ubiquiti's requirements say CyberSecure needs UniFi OS Server and that the classic Network Application (which Ubiquiti calls UniFi Network Server) is not supported. If your controller is still the classic Network Application, migrate to UniFi OS Server first.
One subscription per site
CyberSecure is licensed per site, not per console. Ubiquiti's wording is that a subscription "covers a single site's gateway deployment", including a Shadow Mode standby gateway in a high-availability pair. A console with five sites, each with its own gateway, needs five subscriptions. That is the same number you would need with five Cloud Gateways, so there is no licensing reason to run a separate console at each site.
How to buy it
- Sign in at unifi.ui.com as the owner of the console. Other roles see "The owner of this site can activate CyberSecure" and cannot continue. See Users and roles.
- Open the site and click the shield icon to subscribe. Billing is handled by Ubiquiti through your Ubiquiti account.
- Allow up to 15 minutes for the threat signatures to activate on the gateway.
Keep Remote Access on
Ubiquiti requires Remote Access to be enabled for CyberSecure to activate and to stay current. Turning it off can lapse the subscription. See Remote Access, Site Manager and the Mobile App.
Which gateways
Any gateway on Ubiquiti's CyberSecure list, which at the time of writing includes the UXG Pro, UXG Max and UXG Enterprise. The UXG Lite is not supported. Cloud Gateways run their own controller and are not used with a hosted console.
A subscription can be moved to another gateway you own from the owner's Account Portal, up to twice in 30 days.
